It feels like there's a different species of braying, hate-filled dogs only interested in Alpha-male competitions and being a rabid asshole to any woman they ever meet. And... I don't understand.

I can see the accidental privilege: men falling into sexist behaviour because it's the norm and there's no comeback when they do it, so they genuinely don't even realise. But you're right, this is different. It's open, directed hate and I do not know where it comes from or who this race of lethal, repugnant maniacs are. Their mindset hasn't ever been part of my world so I don't know how to interact with them. I'm mystified, and wondering if I even count as the same class of organism.

The Ched Evans thing is fucking obscene. Where do we grow these wankers?

I don't know, I don't know. I am so used to theories of institutionalised sexism far from most of my actual experiences of men as friends,equals,lovers, colleagues...

I read the words and cried this morning; Liar/Cunt/Whore/Slag, endless repetitions of hate, the real thing, visceral and so close.

I don't know what these creatures are either.
