A weekend of much doing

smokingbootCamp Gerbil is a go-go. For those strange people who might not find details of rodent housing interesting, I'll employ the cut.
Three of them are even now running round the rotastak complex kindly donated by Evilwillow. It's a great arrangement; four separate perspex cages centred around a cross-roads of tubes, one of which has two little compartments up top for them to climb to. One has an old tea-towel over it, so they can always have somewhere dark to retire to, but they still need somewhere to burrow and make tunnels, so we are looking for a large fishtank, not necessarily waterproof, to fill with peat, straw and wood. I would like to connect this rotastak arrangement up to it, but it might take over my whole office. I can't take them to the desert where they belong, but I would like to make them as happy as can be. Pet shops are not very nice places.
The Boris situation has been reported to the RSPCA and they're sending an inspector to check him out, but I feel embarrassed, like I'm a snitch. Still, sooner that than a sad Boris.
Maelstrom: great and glorious was the re-enactment fair, and full of beautiful things I wanted to buy for the house, never mind kit. Larians looks rather scrum in his new gear, and as for my character, well, I think she's beginning to come together. A few details need fixing, but it could be worse. This may be code for 'I like this look so much my character will probably die within an hour of wearing it.'
Last night, we went to the Grand in Leeds to see the Reduced Shakespeare Company's latest production, 'All the Great Books,' with Sensible But Spiritual and Laughs Like Gravel. The last time I saw the R(d)SC was in the early 90's when they were trotting out the Complete Works of Shakespeare for the first time. We laughed like drains then, and we laughed like drains last night. Marvellous.
And so the week begins, and I suddenly find myself feeling rejuvenated, ready to rock and write. Onwards and upwards!
