Speaking of stories, Dr Who is troubling me. Poor old Peter Capaldi is struggling with some truly peculiar stuff. What is going wrong here? Is it just that the viewing public don't want an avuncular hero, but someone it's OK to fancy? The first series lost a lot of ground to cute dialogue covering no plot. It felt like adventures were created by stringing cool images together and making pretty weak plots out of them. Missy's great, Danny Pink wasn't, RetroSkaro, handmines and Davros were fun, The Brigadier's end was fab, Clara's all done. The last thing with Maisie Williams was OK as a concept; I'm not sure bad Aslan helped. They need new scriptwriters. These are tired or just not up to it.
