Clean for the Queen
Mar. 1st, 2016 04:24 pm has a better ring to it than 'Scrub the Streets, Peasants,' as the International Business Times tells us.
Seriously,here it is. http://www.cleanforthequeen.co.uk/home/2365
Everybody look busy! A woman who has never had to empty a bin in her life is coming!
No, here's the answer; as the government is constantly trying to tell us, don't expect something for nothing. If you really want clean streets as a mark of respect for our monarch on her 90th birthday, you hire street cleaners and litter pickers and you show respect for their efforts by paying them for what they do.
Respect all or respect none.

Date: 2016-03-02 08:25 am (UTC)Rubbish is still an issue around our park spaces and streets though, and I am all for people cleaning up their own litter. But people going out and scrubbing streets for the queen is a bit too medieval for my liking. Keeping the streets clean for ourselves would be more like it.
