The Return of the Return
Sep. 9th, 2016 11:52 amSweden sounds nice.
Great night, hangover not so great.
Drunkenly watched The Empire Strikes Back.
Love Leia, love Carrie Fisher, hate those plaits. If your culture does some weird danish pastry as hairstyle thing, be proud of it.
In general, I don't like 'bridging' films, because there's surely something of a cheat about a film that doesn't start or end a story, and this followed too hard on the heels of Star Wars for me to approve of it as much . I can only have one obsession at a time, nothing else will do. Also, Lando Calrissian was lame.
Having said that, The Two Towers was a marvellous film, and far better than Return of the King. The latter had no hope due to
a) Multiple endings, each one more tedious than the last.
b) Aragorn washing his hair.
c) The Eagles being revealed as the answer to all Middle-Earth's problems, leading to the question of why they weren't asked to do the Mount Doom ring dump in the first place.
