So much for waking up! I feel dead on my feet though at least there's a sensible explanation for it now.

Two nights ago a neighbour's house was burgled. They are directly across the road from me; the burglars came in through the back, while everyone was asleep and made off with bits and pieces, some small like credit cards, some larger, like the family car. I found myself in difficulty; the old issues with PTSD returned, what with being alone in the house etc, to the extent that I decided to use the Alexa burglar deterrent. This basically just makes sounds so that the place seems occupied. My customised version sounded like a ghostly dinner party with added dog. I don't know if it convinced burglars but what with the barking, tinkling of glasses, slamming of doors, and occasional outbursts of laughter, I didn't get a wink of sleep. The irony was that if burglars had come in, I wouldn't have been able to detect them over the noise.
