Riding Clyde across the Cullen hills on Skye. It's snowing, twilight. The mountains are huge, there are no people, no lights of towns. A bird above me somewhere in the gloom, Clyde moving beneath me, the rhythm of hooves, softened by snow. I haven't noticed before how much snow there is. A dog or a wolf howls somewhere, and I remember there is someone I am supposed to be meeting for a reason I know in the dream but can't recall now.
I see someone leaning against a rock, the person is very tall indeed, male.

He tells me there's cannibalism in Birmingham and laughs. I laugh too, but I am worried. What about my friends? And(a dawning fear) if that's what's happening in Birmingham, what's happening in London? He laughs again, tells me the bridge is out, and pulls Clyde's head around, forcing him to face north, Clyde shies a bit. I don't think he knows what to make of the man. He's too big himself to be scared, but he doesn't quite approve.

Northwards is a great sheet of ice, covering from here to the horizon; North-east, the sea opens up. My direction is towards the aurora. The man offers to come and keep me company - he gives me the impression there are others where we are going - but by now, I am sure he is a *dvorak/djurak(? word appears in my head in the dream)and while he has given me good advice which I must take, I don't think his company is sound. He gives a little laugh again, and I realise he is travelling in the same direction anyway in his own fashion. He smiles at me, and takes off first, skating across the ice in great swoops. We cannot go quite that way, Clyde's shoes are no good for it. So we skirt around the plain, though we keep the figure in sight, until we find rough land and piled snow, and then we begin.

*Dvorak=perfectly harmless dead composer. Shome mishtake shurely...

Jilly's tonight. Unlikely I feel, but we shall see...

I wonder how much of all this headachey-ness and tiredness has stemmed from a caffeine free week?

Maybe its the weather? A lot of us seem to be suffering from headaches, disturbed sleep and odd dreams.

I had one at NWO. I was driving probablyscotty's car (which I still have, thanks to his kindness). The road started to go uphill. I could see that the road got even steeper ahead, and a voice encouraged me to take a run up. I put my foot to the floor and increased the speed. But the road just kept getting steeper, until eventually the car fell away from the road and started to fall downwards. The dream kept repeating, and I tried a different tactic each time. But it was always the same ending. After a while, I decided to just relax into it and enjoy the falling sensation!

Coming off caffeine will do that to you yes, but the good news is that when the side-effects of the caffeine leaving your body go, you'll feel great!

Hope you don't mind me saying this...

Simply put - hills in dreams often mean problems, and roads often represent the path one takes in life. By the time you add that you were in a car and getting nowhere, I would suggest that this is probably a dream about your won car going wrong and your attempts to get it sorted.

Damn - I thought I'd got away with eating those pesky kids as well!

As an aside, this sounds like a dream telling you you're skirting an issue that someone else wants you to face.

Of course I don't mind you saying! I kinda came to the same conclusion. Given my stress levels at NWO, ti wasn't that surprising. But at least I eventually gave in and enjoyed the falling sensation :)

It isn't even voluntary! I just forgot to go replace the caffeinated! But I do drink one hell of a lot of caffeine, five cups a day at least, and that's before added diet coke etc, so a week off's got to be good for me. I wonder how long it takes before my bod starts to notice the good side effects?

I think you're rather good at this!

Feels right somehow. The bogglement is in trying to spot the issue. The nearest I can come to it is the massed band of my family trying to get me to have this mole removed...the hospital's brought the date forward, Sauron's very well behaved, it feels chilled, this feels more like my family's issue than mine. It doesn't feel real enough, somehow, to be the source of the dream.

So. Am stuck! Finx, finx, finx...

Yes, I noticed my caffeine intake increasing more when Rich started bringing home tonnes of diet coke :) If you team it with green tea/water, I've found your body flushes it through your system faster and you feel better within a week, maybe two. But then I'm addicted to green tea, or maybe just a strong advocate :)

Dream interpretation that is, not cannibalism!

Green tea

hmmm...don't know. Sometimes I like this stuff, other times it makes me shudder!

Yup, I've had bad experiences with it too, but I found a (well I think so anyway) wonderful, flavoured green tea. Tchae make a lovely Citrus flavour one, which is very refreshing.

Hmmm, thanks for pointing that report out. The ones I'd read so far report only very minimal caffeine amounts in green tea, and nothing about tannin. But the reason why I was suggesting it is because it's a great de-toxifier.

There's no getting away from it! I might as well follow Falco's example and give into the sensation!

I've heard of dvorak as entities before - there's some kind of accent on the o - but I now can't find any data on them. Though not always malevolent, they are indeed less than completely trustworthy...

Best I can find is an entry in Encyclopaedia Mystica on Dvorovoi which sounds sufficiently alike as to give a clue on background. There's no entry for dvorak, but it's clear this encyclopaedia is incomplete as there's no entry on Djinn in any spelling I can think of.

That is to say, check you've got all your possessions after he leaves. Especially important ones like your liver. They're not really evil, they just don't really get the "right & wrong" thing, tending to prefer "amusing."

It rather depends if it's actually green tea or jasmine tea. Green tea is taken from the same plant as regular tea ... hence the caffeine. I've largely stopped drinking milk but am still getting a regular caffeine hit off Sencha.

Pardon my ignorance this morning...

All my posts to you begin with 'What is...?'

What is Sencha?

What you say about Jasmine tea interests me, as I like the stuff. I might try taking it up again.

Thank you for looking, my web wanderings have been distinctly unsuccessful so far.

Re the Right/Wrong/Amusing description, this probably explains why the gentleman found everything (especially the cannibalism) so amusing!
