Which is why I have volunteered for a group pick up litter thing this thursday. The whole area is much cleaner since Lockdown, but as I am doing very little other than edit, sleep, and take photos, it is time for me to get off my arse and do something helpful.

It's really hard though. Yesterday, R and I discussed the possibility that we may have had Covid and could be still recovering from it. We are crazy tired, by which I mean we crashed out at about 5.15 pm yesterday. I have been working this morning, but now I'm too knackered to continue, and it's not even 2. We are meant to be heading into Edinburgh for the first time in months this saturday, for my birthday dinner (the restaurant assures us of social distancing measures) and our masks are ready. But we are exhausted and I am wondering if it's wise.

We don't have any symptoms currently, but I was pretty ill at the start of the year, knobbled by some flu-alike that came with a bizarre and regular cough. It went away. This exhaustion though, seems to have started a few days ago.

My husband is suffering enough to ask Bestie about it. She's a very close friend and Big Shot Scientist who usually works on flu vaccines and seems to have been pulled off that to work on Covid. Alas, she tells us, there's nothing really accurate to measure the hoped for anti-bodies. So that's that. Just keep going I guess. One thing I'm sure of; this is not normal, not for either of us.

Dealing with Mum is a problem. Naturally she is as healthy as a horse, but her illness makes her vulnerable to daft theories about diseases. She has now decided that she will not take a vaccine if one is available, and is working herself up into a bout of fervid imaginings because vaccination may become mandatory in Spain. She has copies of all sorts of rights constitutional and beyond, and her head is full of devious doctors of malign intent, hiding behind her door ready to leap out and trank her with an elephant gun full of terrifying toxins.

I have only ever had the flu vaccination once,' she said, 'and I was extremely ill afterwards.'

Fact is, she's almost never physically ill, and by never I mean it must have happened but I can't recall a single instance ever. I was told that she suffered from Diptheria when she was tiny, and they had to give her some serum/vaccine from a horse or something (? https://americanhistory.si.edu/blog/2013/08/how-horses-helped-cure-diphtheria.html) but beyond that, the skinny child who drank the sap from wild poppies and tomatoes rubbed with garlic grew to be a prodigy of health, albeit crazy. Anyway, she'll never take the vaccine, so I must, when and if it ever appears.

And that's it, me done, too tired to write anymore. How much of this is due to confinement?

I'm going to need a bit more pep for litter picking.
