Back to Whitby
Oct. 22nd, 2020 09:47 amCovid test Negative!
Same for R.
We're supposed to be going to Whitby soon with Best Lady and her husband soon. Bestie's a scientist working on Covid so she needs to get tested every week, any symptoms and she's out of the lab for 14 days. So what with my symptoms, she asked if we could get the tests. I We went to a drive-in (I remember when those things were fun!) got tested, got our results the next day. She's happy, we're all happy.
Well, I say happy. She badly needs a break, as does R, who has been working too hard from 8 am til 9 pm on some occasions. They are both looking forward to it almost desperately. Personally I have no real desire to go back to Whitby, where the folk voted to leave the EU; as far as I am concerned, Dracula landed there and he can keep the place. But if I let the sea and the moors and the abbey work upon me, I'm sure a kinder deeper magic will prevail.
Travelling is second nature to me, I'm good at it and it's good for me. I will enjoy this, that's how I do.
But I can't remember ever not wanting it before.

Date: 2020-10-22 12:10 pm (UTC)It's so unfortunate that national politics, in addition to Covid, now hang like such a dark, even ominous cloud over so much of life.
The last time I remember it being that way, at least for me, was during the Vietnam era when even the thought of traveling home was such a potent reminder of how our national politics had intruded into our familys' lives.
I do hope that, in spite of such things, your trip is an enjoyable and safe one for all of you...
