He needs removing asap, but I would be very surprised if Pence is the man to do it. Strong monarchs - and yes, he strikes me as a weak king of the medieval kind rather than a 21st century president - fortified themselves with great advisers, weak ones are frightened by aptitude, and by God, something in Trump is very weak. That Pence called in the National Guard is appropriate, but I would be pleasantly surprised if he enables the enforcement of Article 25. I think he is frightened, which is understandable; of all the times for a great man to be needed in what is usually such a potted plant of a job!
Trump must not only go, he must go in opprobrium. Because this stuff hangs around. Even out of office, he will be a danger to the country's stability long term, a nexus for every nutter with a gun and a grudge against the state. The US - and the world - would be very fortunate if he fled into exile, but I don't think he will do that unless it looks he is facing jail time.
