My dreams may disturb me but my days are outlandishly pretty; wildflowers are riot everywhere, spotted orchids sprouting all around the house, with the green opposite riotous with flowers. I've tried to take photos but they just don't capture the gorgeousness of it all. The smell is beyond Heaven. My necessary trips to the Post Office today and yesterday, were like walking into some medieval lady's botanical book of days; buttercups, dog rose, daisies, bramble, self-heal, pink clover, white clover, vetch, scabious, eggs-and-bacon, poppies, Queen Anne's Lace, iris, and this character...

Hmm.

I think that is a giant hogweed, lurking close to the water.

In my dreams last night I was with a whole bunch of dreamfriends,(ie not known from real life) ; a bearded friend/villain tried to kiss me, and I kept my teeth locked together, not because it was unpleasant (it really wasn't) but because of being married. Not that I want wifedom to turn me into a character out of The Mill On The Floss, but...

Well, you know, smooth villains ask.

I don't mind villains. Story villains I mean, not real people who want to make you unhappy. The Giant Hogweed is a villain. It even looks ominous with its purple blotched stalk, and its sheer bleedin' triffidity.

Councils are notoriously lackadaisical about actually doing anything re Giant Hogweed, especially when when so close to water. This one looks reassuringly inaccessible. I find myself reluctant to tell, just as I would be if I saw one of the cryptids spotted around here, because every now and again 'keep your monkey hands off' is a lesson worth learning.

All right villain, you get another day and night.

Now for my own villainy;

I don't give a damn if England win or lose tonight. Or any other night. It's just a bloody game.
