That was not a great day.
My jab was uneventful, and as yet I have no real side effects apart from soreness in the arm. R had his, which was rather more eventful. Something went wrong, and the needle 'slipped' so half ended up in his arm, half ended up on his skin and he had to have the shot again. So he's received about one and a half loads of vaccine booster. He also had the flu jab. He came back feeling a bit lousy and last night, he asked me if he had a temperature. If he did I couldn't detect it by touching his forehead; in fact he felt cold and clammy.
I wish he had taken today off.
Meanwhile, my mother knows nothing of this. Her phone has been playing up, she took it back to the shop and now she has a new phone which she says is broken. She wants me to send her all the videos she has sent me from the old phone about family genealogy. So far I have only found one, which she denies sending. It would be great to ask if we can continue the conversation later because I'm feeling a bit whacked by the jab, but if she knew I had the booster things would just turn to hell.
I'm feeling distinctly uneasy with no real reason.

Date: 2021-12-14 03:30 pm (UTC)Here in the States, I had to marvel at the relative ease of both my vaccinations and the follow-up booster.
In fact, I didn't feel the second vaccination at all. Actually went back into the vaccination center where it was given to ask one of the circulating medics to look at my arm: "Do you see a needle prick there?"
He assured me that he did.
I dunno whether this had anything to do with the actual vaccine being used. I got Moderna. Did you guys get AstraZeneca?

Date: 2021-12-15 08:33 am (UTC)The feeling of the needle was almost nothing, unlike the first two, where it was slightly protracted. But yes, it's been quite easy. We booked our booster before the announcement of the Omicron related death in the UK, so we have been able to avoid the current rush.
