Are you wondering about the medical issue or the wait for appointments?

In the States, the wait for appointments has to do with a shortage of healthcare providers and an increasing demand for healthcare services (as Boomers—a huge population cohort—age.)

There is a way around it: When you make the appointment, you announce on the phone, I will be paying cash.

But for obvious reasons, most people don't want to do that.

The wait for appointments is the one! They say it's a hangover from Covid, and for sure an ageing population needs more attention, but still I find it difficult to understand how we can be facing up to 12 week waiting times. With the foot being already dealt with privately, I don't want us to chuck money round unnecessarily but if this does turn into something more, we may have to.
