All I needed was pale underwear for beneath a white based dress, and some light shawls to wear over my shoulders for at least two of my dresses are very exposed around my neck, and Cretan Helios is loving but merciless when he kisses. I found myself wearing some great baggy blue shirt thing with pockets deep enough to carry specs and phone, comfortable but not at all flattering! Now I need gladiator sandals and some turquoise boho bracelets and I’ll look like an extra from Mamma Mia.

Russ bought me a top and matching trousers that made me look again. The colours are all wrong, coral and lemon (so I will re-dye my hair to rescue my skin tone a bit) but the cut is so flowing and elegant, that for a moment I saw what I might look like as a lady instead of a perpetually wardrobe challenged slob in jeans and t-shirts . The outfit requires a bit more grooming from me and a few choice accessories. But with just a little trouble, it could look very chic, perfect for doing what grown ups do.

Now if only I could work out what it is that grown ups do…
