Frustration

Getting old cat to take his medication is really difficult. It's 5 doses a day, which means a three course breakfast but each course has to be small or he doesn't eat it, he is very slow when he does eat it, and will turn his nose up at two of the three medicines if he detects them. Meanwhile, the other two are all too ready to nick his food, laxatives and all.

*Sigh* He wakes me up early to feed him, then doesn't eat.

I do not know how to get his medicine into him. At the moment, even this trial and error is taking hours, and though I have that time now, it's going to be hard to get a cat sitter to spend ages doing it; I usually hire an overnight service, so they come in the evening, feed, stay, give breakfast in the morning, and I assume go to work though they are welcome to stay as long as they like. Faddling around like this in the morning just may not be possible for them. I don't know how to sort this out.

Until this gets into some sort of rhythm, something consistent that always or at least generally works, I can't go far so the Stone Dead festival is out of the question this year. A bit gutted as I was hoping to catch up with mates I haven't seen in ages, but it's not as though I'm generally thwarted on the good times front, so I can be an adult about it.

Then Russ gets up, mixes a little gravy with biscuits and old tom laps it up like he hasn't been fed in years. Huh!

You wouldn't be comfortable boarding him with a vet?

Unfortunately, they don't provide that service.
