We are not celebrating much today.

R's mum fell over in their garage and broke her arm. They need to put pins in it or something like that, so time for an op with general anaesthetic. It's a bit worrying cos she's 78, but might as well stay positive; she's a strong person.

R wanted to go down and stay with them, which I think would be a good idea. His Dad, secure in trained helplessness, cannot cook for himself and is currently getting stuff out of the freezer and thawing it etc. R's sister is not far off and R can work from pretty much anywhere but R's mum didn't want anyone there. She seems to be embarrassed. I don't understand why that would be, maybe I am misreading the situation. She likes things done her way which might be why she doesn't want R in her kitchen, but when all is said and done they are going to need help.

Anyway, fingers crossed for her. We have all the time in the world for romance, and besides today is mid way through Lupercalia, a far more juicy festival. I'll put up a story for it.

Thank you. They have kept her in, because post-op she has no feeling in some of her fingers, and they are warm to the touch. I am hoping it's just the anaesthetic taking forever to wear off.
