Fresh from the South

smokingbootI was half awake in the dark when Biggie jumped up for cuddles. A crash sounded and her eyes looked in alarm towards the open window. There was the blind slamming frantically against the pane and beyond it, Storm Eowyn on her way, trees dancing as she rose.
I went out and stood in the garden to feel the unfurling rains and the wind kiss me fresh from the south. I'm a true airhead, storms bring life and power to me, rejuvenating. I am myself again. There's much to do, including cleaning up my benighted study and perusing anywhere up to 39 separate documents. Looks like we will have to postpone today's radiotherapy, they'll add an extra session at the end. But for now I dismiss it and everything else I don't like.
I hope all stay safe and warm. For myself, Poor Donkey Body is smiling. She is not ill today.
