Not meant to cause you pain, my dear duke; had I thought so, I would have warned you. I am sorry. Some of it is terrifying and sad in the way that people are, but see! On the very first postcard! The reason your pink cloud isn't around is cos it's wandering the streets creating marvels!

Not your fault dear girl, not at all.
Hell, not even mine, just some of those cards caught me off guard.

I love you dearly for a variety of reasons and your ability to
shrug off reality like an inconveniently heavy coat is one of them.
