I promise not to talk about this too much, not to fall prey to hubris, not to act like an idiot, and any more news on this front will be quiet, contained, minimal. But just for this moment...

I have an agent!

Oh I know it doesn't mean much, mustn't expect too much too soon, the book may still be jettisoned from the eyes of uncaring publishers, but it is a start, it is a step. And I am so happy, I'm afraid my happiness may jinx the whole thing. To all aspiring writers out there, whoever you are, may we make it, really really make it. Now if you will excuse me, I must run around and kiss invisible people.

I may go to [profile] 14022006 to write Valentines messages of goo to everybody. Oh wait, you'll know it was me, so that's no good. I'll just send you kisses from here cos I love you, mwah! And you, mwah! and definitely you, mwah!...

I am trying not to be too happy; it's not endgame after all, but a necessary step. This glow will leave me and I will stop grinning like a loon and become more sensible. *Puts on sensible face*

That lasted about 30 seconds!

*Beams* thanks! Now I must really treat it like an adult, and shrug it off rather than keep hugging my computer!

Hoody-hoo.
Oddly enough, I was actually thinking about the book today because I was reading Scott's comments about not liking reading on the computer screen. Yours is the only piece of work over ten pages I have ever been able to read on the 'puter without wanting to throw the monitor out of the nearest window.
I Believe!

Your patience is unending...the thing has changed somewhat since you saw it, but even now I suspect it reads better on page than on screen. The latter is merciless on long paragraphs.

It may be a small step, but is definitely a valuable and exciting one.

Whilst it is good to be adult and sensible about things, it is also vitally important to dance the dance of glee whenever it is possible to do so. Feel the happiness and the joy when it exists and worry about being serious later, there will be plenty of time to do that whilst you are finishing the writing (assuming you haven't do that just yet) and whilst you are waiting for stupid publishers to come back to you with the deal you deserve!

So for now ... Wheeeeee!

You've convinced me!

I will dance the dance of glee...but so's not to anger the hubris gods, I'll try to make it a little dance.

Wheee!

Well I guess you could always make it a dance of glee with a small diversion to appease the gods of hubris! Sort of a theme and variations! *grin*

I think one way to appease the gods of hubris might be to humbly concentrate on work I'm really bad at, like cooking or something...

Computer huggage

Well done, that's marvelous news! It's a huge step in the right direction and I'm dead pleased for you. Get those dreams into print.

Happy writing.

I'd imagine most things make you smile at the moment. You've got an agent! Yay! =o)

What sort of stuff are you hoping to publish?

Most things do indeed make me smile, but it isn't all down to the Agent; life takes interesting turns sometimes:-)

Re the stuff, well, my inherent superstition won't let me talk about it right now just in case! Suffice it to say that fairies are involved. If anything comes of this, I will drone on about it so long and loud you'll wish you'd never asked.

Congratulations!
