Well that was hard...

Finally got my compensation award from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. I fought them up a long way from their original offer but it was still much less than it should have been. Another great British ideal marred by the attempt to pay as little as possible for it. It's a government body, and it's undergone severe cuts in the last two years, because that's what this government does. When they talk about 'hard choices,' they don't mean hard choices for them.

It was all very harrowing, I feel drawn and tired, woke this morning too early, trying not to resent what has happened. Compared to their initial offer this is a sweety... guess it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick larians was with me yesterday, and it was just as well...it was difficult, very difficult. Still, the remainder of the day was lovely...we went to Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese in Fleet Street and drank Samuel Smith's bitter, and talked and talked. Ice-cream in Blackheath followed, and an Italian meal which was all right; the evening was dedicated to the Great British Bake-Off. I am so glad the series manic giggler/weeper got the boot post haste; I am in too fragile a state myself to empathise with self loathing over a failed cherry cake.

New dawn, new day... got to work out what I am going to do with it.

Sleep and waking

I was trying to work when Ralik yelled at me for some attention, so I went and played with him for a while on the sofa, Biggie joining us. Then I feel asleep, only to wake up a few minutes ago. God, how tired I have been, without realising it!

The hearing has weighed me down for months, in fact I have been exhausted for years, since the incident and all that followed. Yesterday I could not believe it was over. Now I think I believe it, at least my body believes it and my body is a lot wiser than I am. Already new pictures arise in my head, new writings, new creations and you never know what will happen.

Time to begin again.
