Remembrance Sunday

2016 is the year that demonstrates how much has been forgotten.

Can I bear to watch the ceremonies at the Cenotaph? Our PM laying a wreath to commemorate the fallen, many in a war whose main antagonist's philosophy has been echoed by her government, to the loud support of her party?

I am too ill to go to the Animals in War service at Park Lane. Turns out that Animal Aid are no longer doing a purple poppy because they think it is creating the idea of animals as heroes rather than victims. But that is down to Animal Aid's decision on how to regard the poppy as a symbol at all.

 Next year, I'll make a purple poppy for myself, or get someone to make one for me.
