Hard thing done.
May. 31st, 2018 06:28 pmI am hoping my mood will lift now that everything has been signed. Done, posted, got rid of. Still not feeling connected to much.
Dreams, weird. Dreamed I met an old and dear friend in an interview room, he told me that his wife had died ...unlikely as he's gay and never been married. I'm not going to tell him about the dream, it'll just freak him out. It freaked me out.
Some usual work got done, so that's something, but eh, hard going.
Thinking of stuff that's not hard going: so not Jessica Jones season 2 then. A shame, season 1 was incredible. You can tell the absence of David Tennant and a tight plotline...and the writing just gets worse throughout. The Handmaid's Tale is very good, but if I have to sit through one more shot of June/Offred sitting in the window, a lone tear traversing her cheek, I may have to throw something at the TV.
Patrick Melrose is improving, though it's harrowing too. Still, I was impressed by Princess Margaret being depicted as a hatchet-faced bitch; it makes a change from the usual fawning that passes for any TV representation of our royalty, and according to many, she was indeed a proper brat.
Today's news? Nigel Lawson, mainstay of the EU Leave campaign, is applying for residency in France. Incredible, as incredible as that creature Farage resisting calls for to give up his EU pension because, he asks, why should his kids suffer? Well why should any kids suffer because of your vile lies, Nige? Then add to this, the batshit Europhobe John Redwood advising investors to get their money out of Britain while the economy hits the brakes... These people, while crazy are not stupid. But they think we are. I wonder how many Brexiters are true believers, and how many know, deep in their hearts, that they've been utterly conned by these snake-oil salesmen. Me, I just want us to get the hell out of dodge and move to Europe. If it's good enough for that bugger Lawson, it's good enough for us.
