How odd it feels!

I don't like to ask for money, or anything else really. Way way back I've asked friends to stump up a shout for me when temporarily low, but always paid it back quickly, i.e when I've found an ATM that isn't out of notes. But then a birthday's the time when presents or cards just turn up. So if peeps are so inclined, they might as well save postage and the tree, and stick a bob in or two for this.

I am still withering with embarrassment though. It makes me feel flustered and have to get up and walk around flapping my hands. I have to settle down to work, and can't quite do it. So I try to think about something else.

And then a friend phones, for an hour, and suddenly I'm time short.
