Maybe it's age

Up at 5.15 Never used to be an early riser, today I was conscious enough to detect a big wet shaggy cat on the bed next to me purring. Perhaps she can hear a change in my heartbeat or something as I wake up and bring the promise of breakfast with me.

Gulls keening and the light lifting fast; sun rose a couple of minutes ago, streetlights going out. It's at times like this I wish we lived on the hills. This house is great, but I want less between me and the sky.

Work was dull yesterday, so much so that I have to go back over it today. Sometimes pushing on just leads to worse results. I need to know when to quit.

But today will be better.
