2021

This time next year, subject to a couple of important caveats, we'll be in Cambodia. I'm ready for something new. Last night I slept really well and feel so much better for it.

Just the one resolution: Apply myself.

I am not working hard enough, and that must change. 2020 saw my concentration slip and fray and fade... This includes exercise and diet. Annoying!

I know the projects that need to be finished, the projects that need to be started.

NYE was fine, quiet for sure, but quiet's all right if it's not endless. We got to have a fabulous chat with Mallorys_Camera! Past and Future met and there was much awesomeness!

This new year is an important marker; yes, Covid remains a blight, but a vaccine looks to be on its way. I have high hopes for the Presidency of Joe Biden, because who can resist a lover of Irish poetry? There will be issues of course, but for the people of both Northern Ireland and R.O.I he maintains a level of safety. To add to that, the R.O.I government has committed to ensure that Northern Irish citizens can still access EU health services and Erasmus if they want (https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/united-ireland-trends-as-dublin-commits-to-funding-eu-health-cards-and-erasmus-for-citizens-north-of-the-border/29/12/ I despise Brexit and all its motivations, but if it leads, little by little to a united Ireland prosperous and safe from nutterdom (in so much as anywhere is) that would be one heck of a silver lining.

The follies of Johnson will go on. I expect him to start throwing sweeteners around and they may work. The kidology and corruption has reached a quite extraordinary level; Brexit's great victory is in fact May's deal with with millions if not billions wasted in time and faff, plus an added border down the Irish sea. Representatives of the fishing and farming industries are not fooled. It's a pity they lacked such perspicacity when they were voting, but eh. I remember the adage of the False Prophet; he teaches a very great lesson at a very great price. Bottom line, until Blighty learns. the people will keep paying.

I know who I am, what I want, what I need to do it. That'll do for now. Keeping that clarity is going to be tough enough.

So. Time to begin.
