OK, possibly not better, possibly just reaping the benefits of a quart of Night Nurse. That stuff, plus four pillows propped up so I am in almost a sitting position while I sleep, is all that's getting me any rest at all.
This one's all upper respiratory. Apart from the endless coughing, the best way to describe it is like feeling you have some filmy substance, like cobweb, all over your lungs and throat, and when you try to breathe it sags and wheezes. I have no voice at all right now. My duolingo lessons are hopeless, I sound like a monster, and anyway, talk is exhausting.
But at least this variant doesn't seem to last long. R's had it for, what, a week, and he says he is feeling better. And I guess if it gives us antibody protection for a few months, I can worry less about Mum's vulnerability when we go out there to see her.
So, silver lining and all that.
