For various reasons I've been doing a lot of research into tattoos, their history, symbolism and of course, how pretty/painful they are. The link below is superlative, both for its galleries, and for tracing tattoo history, origins and varieties. You may wonder why I have not linked to the home page, which is of course, the best place to begin: But for some reason, having neatly bypassed the interesting buttocks at the top (worksafe I think), I was reading about the deep spiritual beliefs of the Samoans half way down the page when something made me just stop, freeze and click.

It's his tats. No really, his tats. Honest, just his tats.

I'm surprised; the offending photo must be the tatooed buttocks one, but the guy is wearing a nappy thong - it's more national geographic than erotic, though his shoulders and waist are nice. Still I guess a firewall has no way of knowing that!

It's usually based around the contents of the URL plus the textual contents of the page - most net nanny software isn't sophisticated enough to work out that a picture is inappropriate - after all, from a computer's point of view the difference between a photo of a nude and the photo of someone in a bathing costume is not very much at all.

*grin* I shall have a look from home later.

Did you notice the tats on his thighs, half hidden by waves?

The sea makes everything sexier:-)

After APPRECIATING the Deep spiritual beliefs of the Samoans ... well the picture anyway! Looks like a chunky monkey emerging from the sea !!

I've been on the tatoo trail, I found these articles on the Egyptians tatoos (http://www.touregypt.net/magazine/mag11012000/mag4.htm). Did you know that in 1891, archaeologists discovered the mummified remains of amunet, a priestess of the goddess hathor, at thebes who lived some time between 2160 BC and 1994 BC. this female mummy displayed several lines and dots tattooed about her body - and this art form was restricted to women only, and usually these women were associated with ritualistic practice.
It does mention a reference book "Buffie Johnson's Lady of the Beasts"
