to everybody who commented on my previous post, sending best wishes/thoughts/vibes for our poor little cat, Ralik. You really lifted my spirits at a difficult time. I am very fortunate to have such kind friends.

The divvilcat (quoted by the vets as 'a bit grumpy' and 'issuing threats') is doing well, though he managed to remove his catheter, meaning yet more time sedated while they put it back in,and more days under observation *sigh* see that bill grow!

More thanks to [profile] evilwillow, [profile] cyanidemigraine and [profile] deadmandancing for saving me from the week of the long mope. The former two kept me company on Wednesday night, when I was surely the most dismal hostess ever, but they were very patient with me.

Then came Thursday, and my first attempt at salsa classes with [profile] deadmandancing. It was a hoot; I was a bit awed by [profile] deadmandancing's snakey hips and natural rhythm, but we had a very good teacher and a great time, followed by more dim sum than I could eat in a week! At [profile] cyanidemigraine's suggestion, we met him down at Jilly's where we discovered that the music on Thursday is much better than that on Friday and Saturday; it's less crowded, though admittedly most of the people there looked like they might be struggling with their 11+. But there was room to move, I was chatted up, admired, compared to Sally from A Nightmare Before Christmas, and my shallow self was pleased.

Much midnight chatting and folly occurred, Thursday became Friday, and disappeared in a blur of recovery and work. Now, [profile] larians is home. All I need is my little cat back and well, and I will be as right as rain.

Aamzing how good friends can make everything feel OK. Cheers!

If he's grumpy and issuing threats he must be feeling better.

All hail the Dark Lord and wish him an ever more speedy recovery!

The dark lord is wearing a collar like the one that velvet had to have, in order to stop him from trying to pull out the catheter.

he looks like the Emperor Ming!

LOL!

Velvet's wearing hers at the moment too - war wound she keeps making worse - and thus is a very miserable moog.

*sends big cuddle to Velvet*

Ralik is so miserable with the collar, he won't eat with it on, but if they take it off, it's a matter of time before he starts trying to remove the catheter:-(

We visited him this evening, and they took the collar off, brought the food to him...without collar and with us, he ate like a ravenous beastie. Collar on, and he seems to lose all his spark.

Hopefully, they take the catheter out tomorrow, then it's 24 hours and fingers crossed, I can bring him home.

Velvet and wet cat food in bucket collar = not a hope in hell. This means we've been hand feeding her Iams dried stuff a couple of times a day to supplement the little she seems to be able to scoop up unadded. Sadly dried food makes her miserable too. :o( Reckon it'll be a while before she's free of it too.
