A thank you post
Mar. 18th, 2006 10:55 amto everybody who commented on my previous post, sending best wishes/thoughts/vibes for our poor little cat, Ralik. You really lifted my spirits at a difficult time. I am very fortunate to have such kind friends.
The divvilcat (quoted by the vets as 'a bit grumpy' and 'issuing threats') is doing well, though he managed to remove his catheter, meaning yet more time sedated while they put it back in,and more days under observation *sigh* see that bill grow!
More thanks to
evilwillow,
cyanidemigraine and
deadmandancing for saving me from the week of the long mope. The former two kept me company on Wednesday night, when I was surely the most dismal hostess ever, but they were very patient with me.
Then came Thursday, and my first attempt at salsa classes with
deadmandancing. It was a hoot; I was a bit awed by
deadmandancing's snakey hips and natural rhythm, but we had a very good teacher and a great time, followed by more dim sum than I could eat in a week! At
cyanidemigraine's suggestion, we met him down at Jilly's where we discovered that the music on Thursday is much better than that on Friday and Saturday; it's less crowded, though admittedly most of the people there looked like they might be struggling with their 11+. But there was room to move, I was chatted up, admired, compared to Sally from A Nightmare Before Christmas, and my shallow self was pleased.
Much midnight chatting and folly occurred, Thursday became Friday, and disappeared in a blur of recovery and work. Now,
larians is home. All I need is my little cat back and well, and I will be as right as rain.
Aamzing how good friends can make everything feel OK. Cheers!

For Ralik
Date: 2006-03-18 02:20 pm (UTC)I've heard of your attempt to escape;
Day 2183 of my captivity...
My captors continued to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal.
The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape,
and the mild satisfaction I get from clawing the furniture.
Tomorrow I may eat another house plant.
Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded
- must try this at the top of the stairs.
In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors,
I once again induced myself to vomit on their favourite chair
- must try this on their bed.
Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of,
and to try to strike fear in their hearts.
They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was.
Hmmm, not working according to plan.
There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices.
I was placed in solitary throughout the event.
However, I could hear the noise and smell the food.
More important, I overheard that my confinement was due to my powers of inducing allergies."
Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.
I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches.
The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return.
He is obviously a half-wit.
But I can wait; it is only a matter of time
Good luck; contact me, when needed,,,
