Time off: got the book I wanted, now I have to summon the discipline to read it.

I only realised how tired I was when I got into town, found myself at the church of St Giles-In-The-Fields, palladian grandeur all locked up while the tramps and homeless sat on the steps near the Phoenix Garden. Long before the present church was built, this place served as a leper colony, 10th/11th century...for a moment, I remembered or imagined a shadow nearby. But there was nothing, just soot and cars in the middle of the day, Covent Garden and Charing Cross roaring around me. Still. This place would feel odd on a moonless night.

London has strange dreams and so do I.

Time for bed, food, a bath, and a reality check in the morning. Good night lj.xx

St Giles is a strange one...

Heard a Guy talking on Sacred Geometry get all weirded by it.

Will gladly join you on a moonlit night if you wanna go and look at it... might be freaky on ones own.

Did a bit of research based around Hawksmoor and sacred geometry some time ago ( From Hell put me off and I'm a bit of a dabbler) but there's no getting past it, some of these churches have a strange feeling to them.

The moonlit night thing sounds like a fine idea!

Have you read "Hawksmoor" by Peter Ackroyd? Had to read that at Uni and it freaked me out. Not a book I've ever wanted to go near again. The churches figure prominently, you'll be unsurprised to know. *brrrrs and wanders off for soothing tea*

Yes... he's very good.

Worth bearing in mind that its a good half fiction though...

Theres some deeply weird shit around Hawksmoor...

I've only skimmed the surface with Hawksmoor, and should look further. Christchurch in Spitalfields, near all that Ripper territory, held most of my attention. A strange place...

I'll definately look out for the book.

Forgot you're in Cambridge! Well, if it can be done, that would be great, though it may get complicated with trains and shifts...

Still, good idea if we can manage it.
