Brisk on the phone, talking like an adult business woman rather than an idiot child dressing up in her mother's shoulder pads, I sit and discuss work with our TV scheduler, the guy who gives us the when and where: I must be very sophisticated cos I'm sitting in larians posh leather chair that swivels back and round and everything. I have this discussion in the bag, I'm so cool. No, I can't take this shift, yes, I would love to take this shift and of course I'll be there. Talk talk talk cool cool cool - then Surya jumps on my lap with a dead bird, feathers and entrails splat everywhere, and I scream. Mortified, she runs off with her prize, TV scheduler sits rooted in horror as I Blair Witch it right in his ear. I apologise of course.

'No worries,' he says forlornly 'I'm used to people screaming. At least it was near me not at me.'

Poor guy. Still, at least he's not covered with dead crap and feathered muck. Life saves that for suave professionals like me.

Hope I can get this stuff off the chair...

Finally saw you on telly. I must say I was rather impressed. I knew you'd be good, but my god you were ace. You look like you were born to it. :o)

*laughs* thank you! You are very kind - I honestly think any decent larper could do this after a few years of unrestrained folly in a field full of maniacs! And thank you also for repairing my bag (the buckle is funky!) and restraining a certain gentleman from phoning the show when he was drunk:-D

Re Surya, isn't she lovely? So adorable with humans. It's all other forms of life she feels compelled to destroy...

Glad you like the buckle. I wasn't completely sure about it, but it felt right. Just sorry I couldn't get round to fixing the dress too.

Surya is an absolute sweetie. Last time I saw her she was far more standoffish/skittish. This time she was just a bundle of cuddly fur! Me thinks she's sussed her way to the top is through cuteness rather than by being a demon lord...

On the plus side, as Dan got drunker you weren't on the telly any more, so stopping him did get easier!!!
