Lost and found
Nov. 24th, 2006 10:21 amThe art of losing isn't hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster.
Lose something every day. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.
Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant
to travel. None of these will bring disaster.
I lost my mother's watch. And look! my last, or
next-to-last, of three loved houses went.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.
I lost two cities, lovely ones. And, vaster,
some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.
I miss them, but it wasn't a disaster.
--Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture
I love) I shan't have lied. It's evident
the art of losing's not too hard to master
though it may look like (Write it!) like disaster.

Currently lost: 1 mind, several gerbils, some sleep, two dvds for showreel, much time, 1 Best Ever Aunt leaving Britain for good, any patience with this stupid mousepad thing.
Currently gained: penicillin (oooh look, it wasn't a virus after all), one beautiful piece of art from
Currently pending: Let's just abandon this list.
Have a great weekend. If I seem far away, meet me in dreams, purple door at the side of the bed, with a roughly painted silver moon on it (usually the door not the bed) Follow the graffiti. I'll be there.

Date: 2006-11-27 11:37 am (UTC)About meeting up, right now I have between the evening of the 3rd and the evening of the 8th free. Any of those convenient?
Only trouble is of course, that if they offer me a shift I will be expected to go in, so there is a very small possibility of having to cancel at the last minute, but fingers crossed:-)

Date: 2006-11-27 12:27 pm (UTC)Either that or drag you out to B-Movie on the 8th where there will be Goths.
'Twas good to see you both on Saturday, next time I'll get sorted to take the car into town so we don't have to rush away.
