So instead:
Purveyors of fine fair trade coffee, excellent service and lovely cakes (the lavender cake is particularly good) in a setting dedicated to alternative sexual expression between consenting adults may be dismayed to know that the cafe known as Coffee, Cake and Kink http://www.whatsyours.com/host/php/ in Endell Street, London, has been having hard times* with its landlord.
I was introduced to CCK by the inestimablebytepilot. Not only does it sell catpooka's beautifully crafted dilettos, but it's full of artistic portfolios, kinky books and little fetishy gizmos for you to ponder over while you sup your coffee. In the evening, one can bring one's own wine and for £5 corkage, drink it while eyeing up pretty photography etc. They run lectures and events there, and the place has a sweet, non seedy vibe. I rather like it.
CCK have reached an arrangment with their landlord, but resources have been greatly stretched to cover it, so they're touting their sales, up to 50% off and 3 for 2* throughout January. Good time for fans to visit, or people to try the place for the first time. I haven't found anywhere else like it, it seems quite unique in London, and I suspect in Britain.
I'll be popping in to see if I can afford anything. Or simply to nosh the cakes and stare.
