My novel is out! The Spider's Bride lives!
wildwinter has got his copy! But where is my copy? Where, where, me, me what about me? Suppose it looks terrible? Suppose they haven't ironed out the typos? Suppose it's just not very good? Too late! I need to see it, someone give me my baby!
Suppose it's awful? I don't want to see it if it's awful! I feel sick! How many exclamation marks can I get through in a paragraph? Why am I so silly? Why didn't I get my copy weeks ago? What's been going on? My god, I'm on to question marks now, no hang on, back to exclamation marks! The only punctuational indulgence I've managed to avoid so far is the ellipse, but doubtless in time...
Time, time, I don't have time for this I am travelling to London in less than an hour. I'll see the book soon, doubtless too soon if there are wincemakers involved. And once I have seen it?
Time to begin the new.
I am very grateful to everyone here who has been so supportive of me. This book started on LJ, and you encouraged me and helped me to continue. So here I am and there it is.
I could send you lots of virtual hugs and kisses, but for once I should attempt some simple dignity. Without you, The Spider's Bride would never have existed. Thank you.

Date: 2007-11-22 12:14 pm (UTC)Are you worried that someone will make wincemeat of your work? I claim copyright on that pun and I suspect that I'm welcome to it.
I'll get me coat.
(PS. Will you be at the Athenaeum tonight?)
