Cat update
Dec. 5th, 2008 09:00 amThis house is suffering from Cute Overload. The Demonlord is so patient with the kittens, it's purest Awwwwww. Part of this may be down to him associating them with extra food - and food he likes too, he keeps raiding their kitty bowls, even when his own is full - but I'm going to have to do his rep a disservice and say much of it's down to pure laid-backness.
In truth, he's a very chilled out cat. His stitches come out tomorrow, and then it is time to let him out. Personally I am terrified of him getting lost again, but we have to risk it. He's going a bit stir-crazy.
Surya, if I may use my cod naarthn accent, is reet mardy with the kittens. So much for us getting her company, she was clearly happy at being sole queen of the cat house. She even hissed at Ralik on his return. He dealt with this fast enough by chasing her round her inner sanctum, my brother's bedroom. As for the kittens? she hates them. She hisses, growls, chases and has been a bit too quick to lash out with her paws. No coaxing changes her mind, and the kittens don't help, with their endless games of counting cous(sp?).
Still, they bring us an awful lot of happiness. I have mentioned the possibility of getting more, but

Date: 2008-12-05 02:28 pm (UTC)I found blood on the floor and still don't know if it was a nasty paffing or Raliks' stitches. Examined the kittens and there was a little pink stain on Mis Match's head, but couldn't find a scratch - and it hasn't daunted the little one from creeping up on Surya and irritating the bejasus out of her! So I just watch her, cuddle her lots and hiss at her when she is threatening the kitties, plus I keep them in the kitty room (our dining room) when I'm going out. She knows we disapprove of her disapproval.
Still, as you say, they have years to sort this out...

How does anyone understand what cats think?
Still, if it worked...
