Death in the trees

We rescued one on Saturday, from the jaws of our black slinker, Dervish, all grown up and huntress-like. The distress of the parents was audible and ferocious, they dive-bombed her. We got the chick to safety and called the RSPCA. They came and put the chick back in the nest. larians surrounded the big shrub with chicken wire.

We went out on sunday and came back to find two dead chicks in the conservatory.

It is. She was so pleased with herself, purring and rubbing her jowls against everything.

It is strange to recall her as this pop-eyed crazy looking kitten, not taht much bigger than a chick herself...
