smokingboot..,at the Civil Service Club near Scotland Yard. On any other night I would have been disappointed with the place; it's not a haven for retired spies and ministers making choppy deals.Bond must have been hovering somewhere, but I didn't see a single leather armchair and no-one mentioned portfolios or panama, not even once.
M was the most magical thing about tonight. I look up at the full moon so patched and dappled behind the trees, and don't feel anything at all.
That'll change in its own good time, I guess.
