Well, I'm still not hungry...though there's a certain lightheadedness I can't shake off. Back to bed soon I suspect. Shame really because after this morning's rain, it's a beautiful day.

Also, truth is I have a lot on this week, so really can't continue not eating. Food may not be appealing but I need fuel to get things done. I will leave this until as late as possible in case the whole thing flares up again.

In a way I would like to just leave this until I get a genuine proper 'Feed Me' signal from my body. At the moment it seems to be on shutdown. I can take more water/orange squash than before without feeling sick, but there's still a need to be careful. I'm looking forward at some point to [livejournal.com profile] romney's recommended elderflower cordial mixed in water (should have asked what it does really - [livejournal.com profile] romney, if you're out there, can you tell me?) but while [livejournal.com profile] larians is talking about baked beans, baked potatoes and goujons for tonight, I honestly don't think I can handle it.

it surprises me that I am not hungry. My family would consider 3 days without food to be dramatic; they would stuff me in a chair and pump me full of chocolate and churros before going on to the main meal. How strange, it never occurred to me to question the need to eat three times a day. At some point, when it is a matter of choice, I wouldn't mind an attempt at fasting just to clear my body up. One good thing to come from this is the breaking point for coffee. I have decided to keep it down to one a day at breakfast, plus one if I am meeting friends. If only I liked fruit teas more! They have such glorious sounding combinations and all taste like bubble gum!

Great to hear you're feeling a little better. Our bodies can go quite some time without food as long as we consume fluids, just be careful. Listen to your body and you'll know when you need it. X
Ps I always recommend lemon and ginger tea for nausea/sickness but not a lot of people like it!! :-)

I love lemon and ginger tea, because it tastes like lemon and ginger! It's those beautiful teas that smell of roses and honey and taste like pot-pourri that drive me mad! Thank you for your excellent advice butterfly, I will listen to it...and to me poor old bod!

Start small and slow. If your stomach's still fragile you could set it off again with too much food in one go. Xxx

Very wise that advice, thank you for it. One good thing about this Time of Yuk is that it is making me more mindful of my eating patterns generally. . .

If clear fluids is all you can manage, and not even the gunk in orange squash, then something like lime cordial or elderflower cordial adds nothing more than a little sugar and a lot of flavor - and elderflower is just yum. Might encourage you to drink more fluid - this certainly helped my Mum drink more when she didn't like just water.

Sainsbury's own "taste the difference" is as good as the others. and their Lime cordial is also good and much cheaper than the Roses brand.

Thanks for the tip! There's a Sainsbury's in Lewisham; as soon as I'm able I'll pop down and get some.
