Doorbell

It rang so harshly, so loud in the middle of the night that I woke up, and even now, am not sure I dreamt it. Must check with larians to see if he heard it. I lay there wondering if it was someone testing to see if anyone was in, but then I was inexplicably spooked last night before I went to bed. We have french windows, and for some reason I couldn't shake the feeling there was someone out there in the dark. There wasn't - the only intruder we had was announced by Surya sitting next to me. She looked up and made an ugly growling sound, just as the garage light came on and a fox was revealed. She actually got up and moved towards it, silly little besom that she is. And yet, despite the security, I was nervous.

Then came no dreams, just this sudden ringing bell, waking me up thoroughly. Later, I heard lone footsteps running down the street, away rather towards us. Anyway, I am so tired now, and there is stuff to be done.

I sit here, too knackered to do it.
