Soup and Noodles
Feb. 24th, 2015 11:11 amSoup and noodles outside the Lucky Fish Bar
Inside it’s warm with sport screens but
I like it here. The parade will pass by soon
Lion-men shake bells for lettuce
dancing at every window.
Red letters full of money,
And cakes shaped like curled koi
full of cream. I’ve tried those fish,
and I dunno. That’s all I’m saying.
I dunno.
‘Come in, finish your soup, be warm!’
They don’t understand the heart of waiting.
Soon the parade will pass, leaping high,
Brighter than years of rain for me right here
splattered with time and noodles.
