Remembering LARP

Lots of friends are recalling LARP on facebook right now, via photos etc. I don't have quite such comfortable memories of it, though it's done me a lot of good - I met my fiance through LARP, met some of the best friends imaginable, and if a LARP sword hadn't caught a bad person's attention once, he might have attacked me with something more deadly. Still, the dreams never quite captured me because of the sheer inconvenience of reality; long dresses in a portaloo, that sort of thing. My greatest adventures have been as myself, but I appreciate the fun a lot of my friends get out of the hobby. So this is for them:
