I have loads of them, dried and sitting there, doing nothing. When I drench them and crush them in my hands, they give off the scent that's so delicious when it's fresh, so I thought to fill my bath with them.

They look like a plague of little insects crawled up through the plughole and infested the bath. And they smell of precisely nothing.

Back to the drawing board then...

But this morning the birdsong was riotous again, and the wind was doing that swelling billowing thing that makes me feel so alive. Hill tops are good places to live.
