The spoon's never long enough.

The link below leads to an article in the Guardian which talks about how Western governments, including our own, have been funding Al-Qaida insurgents and their associates in Syria, among other interesting projects. Half way down the page it links to a recently declassified US intelligence report, which claims to have foreseen the rise of 'A Salafist State,' and indeed, to have considered it a useful tool in halting Shia expansion in the middle east. Apparently the varying handout merchants have now decided to unite against said state now that they have started televising the murders of our innocent citizens. But the bombings, murders, rapes before and after? Unknown countless ruined lives? Ever wonder how ISIL got so powerful? We helped them.

The links in this article are at least as useful as the piece itself.

It's pretty terrifying. I keep hoping the whole thing is an overextrapolation,or simply not true. But I am afraid, really afraid, that it is true.

There's a pack I used to use, very interesting for meditation etc, called the Secret Dakini Oracle. Suddenly one of the images occurred to me.

Check out its name. And that's definitely not a spoon it's holding.

This is same old same old. We always help them and when they're no longer useful for us we're stuck with them. It's possible that the Guardian article got it wrong except that it fits with what we know of our involvement in the region over the past hundred years. So...
