Hysteria

Seriously. The right wing press appears to have completely lost its collective mind.

I get how everyone and anyone can get carried away in a moment of intense stress, truly. But this stuff is just, how does one explain it? Unreal. He's into homeopathy, he's vegetarian, he's elected a vegan, he hasn't given the right jobs to women, he's told the same joke twice, the Labour MPs were silent in greeting him, he rides a Chairman Mao style bicycle, he stole veterans' sandwiches, he's got to kneel before the queen and kiss her hand (No, no, he's got to, he's got to! Don't you understand?) he's teetotal, no-one knows what he wants, civil war is upon us, he's doomed, the Labour party's doomed, we're all doomed... Still. At least it's nice to see the PM taking it well.

I've never voted Labour in a General Election, and only seldomly in local elections.

My distatste for our current 'masters' and the hysteria they and their media chums are spewing is inclining me more to casting a vote for the unelectable security risk.

(Ooh. I think I might put that on FB...).

I've got serious doubts about some of JC's ideas - don't know as yet how they will translate into policies - my hope is that he will make the opposition do its job, to curb, question, poke holes, point out weaknesses, all necessary functions within a healthy democracy, whatever that is. My vote will depend on the manifesto, though at present I am very likely to vote for him, just as an antidote to this bizarre one-state-one-mouth-no brain nightmare!

I do not understand what is happening to coverage. It's not just about Corbyn, though he seems to have brought out the most absurd examples, but everything. Have I romanticised the reality of the press? Were broadsheets ever really any better? Where can we find the actual news?

Oh, P.S. Putting it on FB? How much madness do you need?

Fair point - I'll stay schtumm! ;-)

God only knows about accessing proper news. I try to balance The Times with the Guardian and assume the truth is halfway between their respective agendas.

Just watched PM's questions ; very interesting in many ways, including the interplay between JC and DC. A credit to them both in terms of approach, though no material surprises.

I read pretty much everything that comes my way, except the Sun and the Mail (excluding special occasions!) I honestly thought I was losing my mind yesterday, when the most rational responses to Corbyn were to be found on Twitter!
