This is not working
Oct. 26th, 2016 06:02 pmI don't know if it's the cold or what...
But all I am doing is eating rubbish, reading rubbish and finding no spark.
Trying to start this new thing is bloody hard.
I don't want to be bored with London as a theme but I am. I have read, and written, lots of stuff about it over the years, my brother's written stuff, other people have written stuff, and it feels - more than feels, it is - a backdrop to my adult life, magical, creepy, absurd, dangerous, dirty, funny, hard. But what hasn't been written, or what is there left to write?
I am probably not the one to find the story, because I've seen it for too long, Spring-heeled Jack and Mr Jamrach, the Prospect of Whitby and St Pauls, the wharfs, the markets and the pubs and the whole old story, the city, the city, the city!
But I am worn out, trying to find a way of presenting the vibe. I want something else to write about, to feed me, and I don't know what it is, or how to spur myself into finding it.
