The snow is thick on ground and branch outside. Not only have I put the central heating on, I've cleaned out the grate of the wood burner and made a fire, like a true Austenite.
Scab cat comes every day for at least one meal. He will only come a few steps to the kitchen, even if he's very hungry, and its impossible to sneak round and close the door behind him. Both he and our feline legion prefers it if he eats outside, but today the snow is so deep his food will just sink into the frozen squish. I am hoping the fire and the heating will beguile him. It must be so hard for him, living rough out in this. He was sneezing yesterday. I worry.
In other news, I'm getting messages from a buddhist policeman. He's an admirer, and genial disinterest has simply not been enough; we're at that stage when I am going to have to block his number and tell him when I see him that it's not OK. He isn't being creepy but he is inappropriate given that I told him I was very happily married; should have been enough really. The next time we meet at a friend of a friend's, I will be more direct.
Speaking of that friend, we're supposed to be catching up tonight in Woolwich, because he's got mountains of Hello Fresh deliveries to eat his way through, but I'm not going out in this. Today's weather is better looked at than experienced.
