I drank too much nasty wine. My friend gave a great talk on aspects of paganism that I have long since lost interest in; but his panache and ability to engage the audience was as impressive as ever. I needn't have gone, the place was completely packed out, our disgruntled hosts at the venue having to get more chairs from the attic as people kept pouring in... But still, it 's always good to see friends in the crowd.
