Day 4 of feeling weak and sleepy... I'm lurgified. Probably not Covid 19, unless it's possible to have it with a combination of no symptoms and no relevant symptoms. Yesterday morning I was sick, so fasted for the day. This morning, a momentary sense of nausea then nothing, so I'll continue fasting till this evening. All I'm having is boiled water. It's very dull.
But there is a lightness to my body that is quite pleasant. How long has it been since my digestive system wasn't working on something? I've done nothing but eat and drink! The resulting dream was interesting, though I have forgotten much of it. The important point was that R and I were taking a plane to some European principality, chic but old, like one of those walled cities or tiny countries like Liechtenstein or Luxembourg rather than one of the larger nations of the continent; It reminded me of Mont St Michel, or San Marino or even Vatican city, though thoughts of Andorra floated into my head. And we were surrounded by shining weapons, as in a museum or something. I distinctly recall halberds. At that point in the dream I wondered/ thought that R had once been some warlord and I was his wife even then, but my ex turned up looking as though he disapproved of the whole thing.
Anyhoo. Head throbbing, going to leave this here.

Date: 2020-06-07 12:44 pm (UTC)As to the other similarities, it does seem to me that for both the US and the UK, there's a real need to consider what it is at the root of our societies that leads to people like Johnson and Trump gaining power? It is not their Machiavellian skills that gets them to the top, so what is it? What has happened to voters?
Regarding humanity, the very fact that what happened filled people across America and the world with revulsion shows humanity at its most vital and determined. What happened was almost too disgusting to believe. But the fact that we are disgusted, that we are not hiding behind blinkers, that we are not so far gone as to either excuse it or pretend it was something else, gives me hope for better.

Date: 2020-06-12 02:12 am (UTC)Her son, who is a physician in SoCal treating Covid patients in one of those isolation tents outside of the main hospital, was convinced, based on her symptoms, that she had it.
However, as I said, her Covid test came back negative as did a later test for Covid antibodies.
We have heard of some recent cases of a very nasty flu strain, but she'd had her seasonal flu shot. Of course those shots only cover 3 or 4 of the commonest strains in a given season, so it's hit or miss.
In any case, although still suffering from fatigue, she's recovering and for that we're grateful...
