The hill walk we were going to embark upon seems unlikely; a thick mist rolled in early this morning, only now dispelling to reveal a drip day, wet jackdaws moping around the garden. I have read somewhere on the web (and therefore it must be true) that jackdaws are sometimes called sea-crows. It suits their silver hoods and startling pale eyes. Right now the outside world looks like they brought the ocean with them.
