smokingbootWell, we're meant to be moving past the age of Trumpian name-calling but got to admit, someone's called it.

And I will also admit to a little Schadenfreude; Boris Johnson's readiness to break international law with regard to the Withdrawal Agreement probably was just an attempt to spook the EU. Without a US trade deal and as Biden looks to firm up connections with the EU, Johnson's got no blag left in his bag. So now what does he do?
IMHO Boris never cared one iota about Brexit, his anti-EU columns were stories for which the Telegraph and Spectator paid him well, he's no zealot and he has no interest in governance whatsoever. He doesn't think about things much beyond how they serve him, where they get him, and if there was some way back from the Brexit brink that could be sold without destroying him, he'd take it. Re his hoped for rescue from the US, all he can do is try to persuade. Biden seems a pleasant man lacking rancour and Johnson has charm. He really is a shapeshifting creep, he has been all his life, and he's good at it, so you never can tell. But it's a great relief to think Biden will not let the UK government run rough-shod over the Good Friday Agreement and the safety of NI citizens, though he can't save us from our own. Somehow the Shapeshifting Creep has to either make it a success or con enough of us into believing its a success. There is a third angle, already being attempted by the rightwing barms currently biting their own elbows; there's it would have been a success if not for [insert remainers/foreigners/traitors/the Cunning Despicable EU/The Irish Catholic Sabotaging Yankee President]
